Unreal Engine forum user Jeff Lamarche recently posted a plugin that adds support for UDK-style “bone-break” dismemberment (read more here) to Unreal Engine 4.10 Blueprints.
While this method does require some art support and preparation, it’s a tried-and-true way to add dismemberment to enemies, and is still frequently used in modern games. One such example is the recent Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide.
